Day 1 - Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your holiday! Arrive Colombo, included transfer to hotel. Overnight - Colombo

Day 2 - Colombo – breakfast
Highlights of our sightseeing tour of Sri Lanka’s capital include; the Fort, Galle Face Green – a seaside expanse popular for informal cricket games, the Pettah – a noisy oriental bazaar, a visit to Gamgarama temple, Cinnamon Gardens and Independence Square. Tonight, enjoy Sri Lankan cuisine at our Welcome Dinner. Overnight – Colombo

Day 3 - Colombo – Giritale (via Dambulla) – breakfast
We drive to Giritale. En route, we visit the impressive Dambulla Rock Temple which contain frescoes of Buddha. From Giritale, we visit compact Polonnaruwa – an 11th century city and explore the ruins of the Royal Palace, temples and Gal Vihara which boasts 3 enormous and revered Buddha figures. Overnight – Giritale

Day 4 - Giritale – Kandy (via Sigiriya) – breakfast
To Sigiriya, the elevated and mysterious 5th century fortress ruins of King Kasyapa, where we view the stunning frescoes. At Matale, we visit a spice garden. Overnight - Kandy

Day 5 - Kandy & region – breakfast
Today, we visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Back in Kandy, a scenic lakeside town, we visit the lake, bazaar, gem museum and lapidary. Tonight, we visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. After that, we enjoy a cultural dance show.

Day 6 - Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – breakfast
En route to Nuwara Eliya – a scenic hillside town with a distinctly English flavour, we visit a tea plantation. In Nuwara Eliya, we enjoy a sightseeing tour and visit Hakgala Gardens. Overnight – Nuwara Eliya

Day 7 - Nuwara Eliya – Embilipitiya – breakfast
Leaving Nuwara Eliya, we drive to Udawalawe National Park, where we enjoy exploration by jeep. Overnight – Embilipitiya

Day 8 - Embilipitiya – Colombo (via Kithulgula) – breakfast
Continuing to Colombo, we visit Ratnapura, Sri Lanka’s gem capital where we visit a mine and lapidary. Overnight - Colombo

Day 9 - Colombo – breakfast
Tour ends after breakfast. Included onward transfer to airport.
